Urban Innovation Hackathon Wrap-up and Party Sunday, July 24 at 4:00

Seven groups, 48 hours, 100 folks working through the night finding ways to improve San Francisco’s buildings and transit systems and build more sustainable, resilient communities. GAFFTA’s second Summer of Smart urban innovation hackathon is wrapping up, and we’re inviting you to come by and check out the fruits of our labor! Join us at GAFFTA headquarters, 998 Market St. (the historic Warfield building) today from 4-5:30 to watch the groups present demos of their work, and stay for drinks and mingling afterwards.

The urban innovation hackathons have attracted the attention of Mayoral candidates, tech superstars and San Francisco-based corporations. Join GAFFTA Chairman Peter Hirshberg and Craigslist founder and community activist Craig Newmark to celebrate the hard work and amazing innovations of the project teams.

Just as a teaser, here’s Christine Outram talking about GoodBuildings.info, a website that will allow commercial buildings to publish sustainability information and give tenants a say in the way their buildings are run.

GAFFTA thanks the San Francisco Foundation, Serious Energy, and Waze for their support of this weekend’s activities.
